Dear East Valley High School Students and Families - 

We are all saddened by the news that our school campuses will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. As educators, we are committed to supporting our students as we all navigate distance learning for the next two months.  In order to create normalcy and a routine for our students and staff, we have created a Continuous Learning Plan. This plan follows recommended OSPI guidelines for student engagement in online learning.  

Teachers will continue to utilize Google Classroom and email to communicate with students and families. They may also use additional online platforms to support student learning.  East Valley High School staff have started moving on new learning as of this week. Staff are planning together and will work with your student on these plans. Flexibility during these times is very important and teachers will work with each student to have a successful rest of the school year.  Teachers will be contacting each class via Google Classroom with new assignments and expectations (as needed).

If your student needs a Chromebook replacement/repair, their Advisory teacher will be reaching out to you (if they have not already done so) to gather information about your tech needs.  For families that have been identified, you will be able to checkout or replace your child’s Chromebook on April 22 from 10:00 a.m. - Noon in the East Valley High School parking lot, near the District Office. For a replacement, the current device and charger must be returned in order to receive another device. 

If you do not have the internet at home to access online materials, you will be able to pick up print materials weekly beginning Wednesday, April 22.  Packet pickup will be every Wednesday from 10:00 - Noon in the East Valley High School parking lot.  Your child’s Advisory teacher will be reaching out to you (if they have not already done so) to gather information regarding who needs print materials. Print materials will be limited and only produced for identified students who need them. As this is the first week of the limited paper/pencil option, we expect some challenges.  Staff appreciate your understanding and flexibility with this process.

We are continuing to finalize plans to recognize our Seniors in the Class of 2020 during this school closure.  Please stay tuned for future communication regarding this.

For current 8th-11th grade students, please visit the East Valley High School website for information regarding registering for classes for the 2020-2021 school year. Online registration will take place April 20 - April 24.
