Grading Information

Dear EVHS Students & Families -

On Tuesday, April 21, you received information regarding grading practices during the school closure via School Messenger.  After that school announcement, OSPI released updated guidelines for grading that have required EVHS to revise grading guidelines for Semester 2.  We apologize for any confusion this has caused.

Our goal is to support all students in earning a letter grade and credit for their classes for second semester.

As of Thursday, April 23, 2020, the following guidelines will be followed for Semester 2 grades:

  1. Students have until Friday, May 8, 2020 to turn in any missing work or assessments from third quarter (any work prior to March 17).
    1. Students should contact their teachers directly regarding their missing work.
  2. Students are required to engage in distance learning through June 19, 2020 in order to maintain or improve their grade from March 17, 2020.
  3. Expected workload: 1-2 assignments per class, per week
  4. Incomplete grades will have the opportunity to re-engage in the learning for that course in order to earn a letter grade for credit. This opportunity will occur during the 2020-2021 school year.

If you have any questions regarding grading, please contact your child’s teacher, counselor, or administrator.  All staff emails are posted on our school website and active during this school closure.

Stay safe and healthy Red Devils! We miss you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Crowe, Mrs. Torpey, & Mr. Martone
