While we know that we will never be able to truly replicate the atmosphere and excitement of a traditional in-person graduation ceremony online, we are hopeful that the activities we have planned will create lasting memories for our graduating seniors. Of course, we would all prefer to be able to celebrate together. However, the current restrictions placed on our schools by the Department of Health have made a traditional ceremony inadvisable at this time.
In the coming weeks we will continue to celebrate our seniors daily on social media. Next week we will be proudly displaying banners on school fences to honor each of our graduates. We will also celebrate the hard work of our seniors with a virtual graduation ceremony and a cruise down Beaudry Road on June 13th.
We want you to know that these decisions weren’t taken lightly and that we understand the emotions and sense of loss many of our seniors and families are feeling amidst these unprecedented times. It is true that this year’s graduation festivities look much different than years past, and will likely look much different than future graduations. I am so proud of our Class of 2020 and the resilience and positivity they have shown amongst these trying times.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Congratulations Class of 2020!
