Principal's Message

Ryan McDaniel
As your new principal, I am eager to serve the students and families of this community. Our mission: “Ensure a safe and engaging environment where all students are empowered to learn at their highest level” will continue to drive our work as we create a more equitable and inclusive school culture. The challenges and complexity of public education have never been greater. The current pandemic, coupled with months of remote learning, has caused significant disparities in learning. The high school staff is dedicated to addressing those disparities and make certain all students earn a meaningful high school diploma and are career and college ready.

While the pandemic continues to put a strain on the education system, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and East Valley School District are committed to full-time, in-person learning. While masks will be required for all students, staff, and visitors inside the building, we are grateful to have students on campus, every day. Further information on Back-to-School and COVID-19 can be found on the district’s webpage: evsd90.org

The words ‘Spirit – Pride – Excellence’ will be given much attention as we bolster our school culture and lead throughout our community. Moving forward, collaboration with stakeholders and strengthening an empathetic and resilient school community will be key to increasing student outcomes. I am energized to engage in this work with you!
