East Valley School District is located in Yakima County, Washington, just east of the City of Yakima. It encompasses the City of Moxee and portions of the unincorporated county, including the Terrace Heights community. The resident population of the East Valley School District is over 17,000. Our community has continued to experience significant growth in residential, educational (Pacific Northwest University), business, and industry over the past 10 years.
East Valley is primarily rural, situated in a valley surrounded by agriculture. Known as the hop production capital of the state and home to bountiful crops and vineyards, agri-tourism thrives. With abundant outdoor activities (hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and more) less than an hour away and four full seasons, East Valley’s central location makes it an ideal place to call home.
Principal's Message
Dear East Valley High School Community,
As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I’m grateful for the opportunity to join East Valley High School and work alongside such a dedicated community of educators, students, and families. This is a school with many strengths, and I look forward to continuing to build on the positive momentum already in place and strategically growing new programs to enhance the future of all students.
At EVHS, it evident there is a shared commitment to creating a school environment where relationships matter, collaboration is valued, and every student has access to student-centered opportunities. Collectively, we will aim to maintain high expectations while also supporting students in ways that allow them to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’m looking forward to the year ahead together and to working together to ensure every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired throughout their high school experience.
With Appreciation,
Sara Frederiksen
Principal
