ACT & SAT Info
The PSAT, SAT, and ACT are standardized college-readiness exams that help students demonstrate their academic skills in reading, writing, and math. The PSAT is typically taken junior year of high school and is used for practice, feedback, and scholarship opportunities, while the SAT and ACT are commonly used by colleges for admissions and placement purposes.
Taking these exams can strengthen college applications, qualify students for scholarships, and help students better understand their academic strengths and areas for growth. Even for students who plan to pursue trade schools, apprenticeships, or military pathways, these tests can provide valuable insight and keep postsecondary options open.
PSAT:
To be announced Fall 2026 (for class of 2028)
WHY TAKE THE PSAT?
Taking the PSAT not only helps you practice for the SAT in a low-stakes environment, but it can also open doors to scholarships and academic recognition. High scores on the PSAT can qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other merit-based awards! Research also shows that students who take the PSAT often feel more prepared and tend to perform better on the SAT because they’ve already practiced in a real testing environment (College Board, 2024).
